General comments
Bij heupfracturen, implantaten en ingrepen wervelkolom: bij bekende S.aureus-dragers wordt aangeraden mupirocine-neuszalf toe te voegen.
Bij penicilline allergie:
Zie: Allergie voor (beta-lactam) antibiotica.
In veel gevallen is cefazoline veilig te geven, ook bij aanwijzingen voor een ernstige immediate type penicilline allergie.
